Entries Are Open For 2026 AACTA Awards Presented by Foxtel Group

The Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) today announced that entries are open for the 2026 AACTA Awards presented by Foxtel Group. This year will see more than 50 awards presented across film, television, documentary, short film and online content, celebrating the creativity and distinctive storytelling of the Australian screen industry. All award categories from the previous year are set to return.
“The 2025 AACTA Awards and Festival reaffirmed the global impact and creative excellence of Australian storytelling. As we open entries for the 2026 Awards, we invite our nation's visionary filmmakers, writers, and creators to showcase their work. This is an opportunity to celebrate the innovation and artistry that define our screen industry and to inspire audiences both at home and around the world.” said AACTA Chair, Jack Christian.
For the third consecutive year, the AACTA Awards will be held in Queensland, with the vibrant Gold Coast once again serving as the perfect backdrop for these prestigious ceremonies. The 2024 and 2025 AACTA Awards were landmark events in AFI | AACTA’s history, bringing together some of the industry’s most celebrated stars including Margot Robbie, Russell Crowe, Cate Blanchett, Henry Cavill and Simon Baker, as well as music icons Paul Kelly and Robbie Williams. Their attendance reiterates the growing influence and global appeal of the Australian screen industry.
2026 will also see the return of AACTA Festival, an immersive celebration of film, television, gaming and the digital realm. Now in its third year, the festival spans five exceptional days of exclusive ceremonies, unmissable panels and events, networking opportunities, and education and industry insights. It brings together the entire screen community from seasoned industry professionals to emerging enthusiasts eager to engage and learn, reinforcing the Australian Academy’s commitment to fostering industry growth and creativity.
